Planning for Gradual Return to On-Campus Work

Back to Updates & Messages: COVID-19

Dear Colleagues,

I write today to provide information about Colgate’s return to on-campus work plan for employees. This plan, which is in concert with New York State’s phased reopening, is scheduled to begin Saturday, June 27, but we understand that thanks to the generous support of the president, many of you will be on vacation during the week of June 29.

Your presence on campus in the coming weeks will vary based on a number of factors that are specific to your individual job functions. There will be cases in which departments return portions of their workforce to campus or rotate personnel to reduce density. Supervisors, department chairs, and program directors will provide you with specific dates and instructions, and when possible, will give notice at least two weeks in advance of an individual employee’s return to on-campus work.

Please carefully read our full plan for returning to on-campus work. This plan, which was developed by Colgate’s dedicated Emergency Operations Center staff, was created in consideration of state regulations and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The plan includes a series of initiatives to help safeguard the health and wellbeing of everyone on campus. As with all efforts of this nature, these measures are only as strong as our collective commitment to community public health. We thank everyone in advance for adhering to them to maximize their effectiveness.

Respectfully,

Dan Gough
Associate Vice President for Campus Safety, Emergency Management, and Environmental Health and Safety
