Student Arrival on Campus

As Colgate welcomes students back to campus for the fall 2020 semester, arrival will have a unique flavor, with processes in place to protect the health and safety of all.

Items of Note

All individuals involved in the arrival process, including students, parents, families, and Colgate employees, must use face coverings and observe proper physical distancing guidelines throughout the arrival process.

Due to COVID-19, parents and families will not be permitted inside any University residential facilities. Contact between parents and family members with other students can compromise the University’s testing protocol and create unnecessary “close contact” situations. Only students, staff and faculty members who have received a negative COVID pre-test will be able to enter residential facilities.

University staff, equipped with proper personal protective equipment and all of whom have recently tested negative for the virus, will be on hand to assist students with moving into campus residential facilities.

We know how very difficult this will be, especially for families, and ask that all prepare for this farewell well before arriving on campus.

Restrooms will be available for parents and families dropping off their students. Facilities staff will be cleaning/sanitizing these facilities throughout the day.
