Assessment Tools

Though you might feel as if you know yourself pretty well, it isn’t always easy to describe yourself to others articulately or to translate your self-knowledge into possible career options. That is exactly why we use self-assessment tools like those offered through our CareerBeam software, or the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory.

The different assessment tools can confirm some of the vocabulary you already use to describe yourself. They might also make you aware of and provide language to describe tendencies you haven’t noticed before.

CareerBeam offers a variety of tools to help students through the self-assessment process. Complete the 'Quick Profile' to get a quick insight into your personal preferences. Assess yourself, define your options/preferences, and envision your future with CareerBeam’s more detailed exercises.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) are formal assessment tools that can give you better insight into your personality and interests, respectively. Please make an appointment with an advisor to discuss how you might utilize these tools and where to access the assessments.
