The Explore workshop was designed as a service for the Colgate alumni community. Rising high school juniors and seniors — who are children and/or grandchildren of Colgate alumni — are invited to spend a couple of days here in Hamilton to learn about the college search and selection process.

The workshop is broad-based and covers the selective college admission process generally (not Colgate admission specifically). The program takes place in the summer, and details and pricing become available in the spring.

Explore Workshop Program Details

Parents and students will be advised on the basics of the college admission process. Colgate staff members will lead various sessions on topics that include:

  • guidelines for researching colleges
  • how to prepare for a campus visit
  • tips for completing your application
  • an in-depth look at the selection process
  • a mock-application review
