Home to Colgate's Outdoor Education Program, Base Camp serves as a classroom, office, rental center, meeting ground, and, more generally, a home-away-from-home for the 50 Outdoor Ed staff members, directors and their furry friends.
With a kitchen well-stocked with hot chocolate, a toasty fire place, and comfortable couches, Base Camp is brimming with activity all four seasons.
An extensive resource library, which is available to everyone, can inform and advise on anything from rock climbing knots to leadership tips to telemark turns, in addition to a map library covering all parts of the Adirondacks, local areas, and the Northeast. We are currently in the process of updating our online resource library as well. Give us a call; we would be glad to help you plan your next trip to the Dack's or find a local trail running route (please give at least three days notice).
