Hamilton Central School Tutoring

Description: Colgate students provide one hour of tutoring a week to K-12th grade children.  The student tutors provide instruction on an individualized and/or small group basis working in coordination with teaching.  Tutors help with a variety of kids on a number of different subjects, so the group is open to anyone and everyone.

Community: Tutors work with all grade levels, Kindergarten to High School.  The group is divided into Elementary Tutoring and Secondary Tutoring

Volunteers say: "The kids are really cute and it's nice to have a break from seeing only college students... I'm having a lot of fun and I'm really excited to have an opportunity to do something like this."

"Since I'm helping with second graders during writing time, it's pretty interesting to see how badly/well/neatly/messily they spell and write. I'm really glad I have this opportunity to help!"
