Digital Media Services:  Video Journalism Program

The Video Journalism Program is comprised of paid Colgate students responsible for covering events on campus and crafting 2-3 minute video features for the Colgate website.  [Click to go to Colgate's Video Console]

VJ job responsibilities include:

  • the completion of at least 1 video feature every two weeks
  • mandatory check-in every Wednesday afternoon to review jobs
  • one three-hour shift in Case Library Information Commons per week (shift to include cleaning the computers, testing computers, picking up trash in 555A-D, and filling out on-line form after each shift)
  • attending mandatory training sessions when necessary
  • peer evaluations of other VJ's work
  • teach one 1-hour workshop per month in evening to students - applications include Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, GarageBand, and others
