ITS for Incoming Students

General support

Colgate students can find IT support through a variety of venues on and off campus. The Helpdesk located in the Case Library and Geyer Center for Technology can assist with software and hardware issues. Students may also call or email the computer Helpline. For additional information on these resources, check out our Support page.

Tools for academic success

Students at Colgate have access to a robust wired and wireless network, computing labs on campus, Google Apps for email and collaborative document storage, and network storage.

Technology in the residence halls

All of our residence halls have been fully wired since 1993, and all Wireless Access Points were upgraded in 2010. Each student is guaranteed one ethernet port in their room to connect to the internet. Residential Computing Consultants (RCCs) are assigned to each residence hall and will meet with you to assist with computing questions and problems.

Computers at the bookstore

Though students are not required to purchase a computer, discount plans are available through the Colgate Bookstore.
