Wireless Network

We completed significant changes to our wireless network in August 2010.  Our wireless network was upgraded and expanded to provide thorough coverage in all student housing, academic buildings, and administration buildings.

Available Wireless Networks

Colgate offers two wireless networks identifiers (SSIDs).

Colgate: designed to be used by Colgate Students, Faculty, and Staff.  Use password "wireless" when prompted.

ColgateGuest: for use by visitors of the university.  Visitors may call the Colgate ITS Helpline at 315-228-7111 for an account.  Visitors can  obtain a guest account from most academic offices, the Office of Admissions, or the IT Service Desk located on the third floor of Case-Geyer Library. Guest accounts are valid for seven days.  Guest accounts can be obtained during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.  Guests planning a visit to the university are encouraged to contact their sponsor in advance to obtain guest wireless access.
