ITS installs anti-virus protection on all Colgate-owned computers before delivery to users, and such software is required for full access to the Colgate network. The anti-virus software is frequently updated automatically. Unfortunately no anti-virus software can protect your computer completely. User vigilance is necessary to protect against unscrupulous attempts to compromise your data or steal personal information. You should never have to provide information like network passwords, even if an e-mail indicates it is coming from a Colgate organization like the ITS Helpline. ITS will never ask you to provide such information.
