Plugging in and Connecting to the Colgate Network
When you plug into an Ethernet port on campus, our network access control system (Bradford's Campus Manager) will verify that your computer has been registered. If it has not been registered, you will be taken through the process described below.
The Registration Process for Laptops and Desktops
Plug into the Colgate Network with an Ethernet cord.
Open your web browser (Internet Explorer or Safari recommended). Follow the on-screen instructions which will involve downloading and installing the Bradford Persistent Agent.
When complete, close and re-open your web browser.
The Registration Process for Game Consoles
If you have a game console that is connected by an Ethernet cable, follow the registration instructions described on our Get Connected page.
Guest Access
Visitors to Colgate may obtain a guest account which will allow them to plug into the network with an Ethernet cord. Visitors can contact the Helpline at itshelp@colgate.edu. A wired guest account is valid for seven days. Guest wireless accounts are also available. See our wireless page for more information.
