Frequently Asked Questions

What events do I need to attend? When do I need to arrive on campus?

All events are optional, at your convenience. Most families should arrive early, by Saturday morning.

When are future commencement dates?

May 20, 2012; May 19, 2013; May 16, 2014; May 17, 2015

What is the dress code?

There is no dress code for events, but a simple guide would be to wear what you are comfortable in, especially  footwear (walking to events).

How long is the ceremony?

Commencement runs approximately 2 1/2 hours. You can make plans to get “on the road” accordingly after that.

Is there handicap parking?

Handicap parking is between Lawrence and Lathrop halls for Chapel events and at the commencement site. If you need special drop-off arrangements, see a campus safety officer for assistance.  View the campus map for more details.

Do you provide wheelchairs?

We have a wheelchair available that can be used for transportation to seats.

On-campus housing and keys

Seniors are instructed to pick up keys for guests from Residential Life the Monday-Friday before the weekend. Confirmation of room reservations will go out the first week of May.

Do we need to bring our own linen?

No, linens are provided for the on-campus housing.

Can we get additional tickets?

From February 1 until March 1, graduating students will be able to reserve up to five guest tickets for the ceremony. When they secure guaranteed tickets, they will be able to request additional tickets. Students will be notified by the dean of the college office mid-April if their requests are able to be granted.

Concert tickets

Admission to concerts is on first-come, first-served basis. There are no tickets.

What is the on-campus housing refund policy?

Cancellation requests, for full refunds, must be received before Friday, May 4, 2012.
