For each health problem addressed, this guide will give you a brief overview, including signs, symptoms and common causes. The flow charts will help you assess the severity of your symptoms.
If the flow chart tells you to "Get Immediate Care,"
inform your residential education staff member, call Campus Safety at x7333, and have them take you to the Community Memorial Hospital emergency room for full evaluation and treatment.
If the flow chart tells you to "See Provider," it usually means that you can wait until health services is open to access medical care. Call us at x7750 to make a "same day" appointment with a health care provider. Try some self-care measures to help yourself until health services opens. If the flow chart tells you to "Call Provider," it usually means that you can wait until health services is open to access medical care. Call us at x7750 to make an appointment with a health care provider at a mutually convenient time, or speak to a nurse for advice. Try some of the recommended self-care measures. If the flow chart tells you to "Use Self-Care," do just that. If you are not improving in a timely fashion, or if symptoms worsen, call health services at x7750 to make an appointment with a health care provider at a mutually convenient time.
