Caps and gowns must be reserved in advance (available at no cost) by clicking the cap and gown section of the Josten's
website between
February 5 and March 7. Since gowns will be customized, this date is firm and no orders will be taken after March 7.
When to Wear
The cap is worn in all processions and during active participation in any of the exercises, such as the awarding of degrees. You should wear the tassel on the right at all times.
Picking up Caps and Gowns
Caps and gowns, along with commencement guest tickets, can be picked up at the Colgate Bookstore on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of senior week (May 16, 17, & 18.) Students MUST present ID and sign for their tickets and regalia.
Nobody will be allowed to pick up another student's graduation regalia or tickets. There will be no Sunday pick-up for gowns or tickets.
Bookstore hours for ticket and regalia pick-up:
- Thursday, May 16, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Friday, May 17, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, May 18, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
