• Do not leave your friends alone at parties or bars.
• Don't leave a party with someone you just met.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Be sure to have blinds and curtains on your windows to protect your privacy.

• Watch your drink being poured, and do not leave it unattended.
• Get your own drink.
• Do not drink from an open container, like a punch bowl.
• Do not drink anything that has an unusual taste, especially salty.
• Do not share drinks.
• Know what you want sexually; set limits; communicate this to others.
• Be forceful, firm, and assertive.
• Be aware of non-verbal clues that can alert you to a problem.
• Don't lose control; drugs and alcohol can alter your judgment.
• Remove yourself from a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable.
• Avoid secluded places at the beginning of relationships.
