Camila Maroja, an immigrant to the United States of America, is an art historian and visual culture theorist specializing in modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on Latin America. Her research interests include exhibition histories, modern and contemporary art, cultural interchanges between South and North, ways in which artists negotiate and localize their production in a globalized world, theories of visual latinamericanismo, and local forms of avant-garde art.
