Inside a Session Consultant Profiles Apply to Be a Consultant
Class Visits
Peer consultants are available to visit any class to describe the services offered by the Writing Center. Additionally, the director is available to give presentations on any aspect of the writing process, complete with exercises. Seminar topics include:
Developing and supporting an argument.
Avoiding common errors in Standard Edited English.
Organizing supportive points.
Focusing and developing paragraphs.
Working with sources.
To schedule a class visit or seminar, e-mail the director or call extension 7376.
Referrals
Although we certainly hope that faculty will encourage students to visit the Writing Center, we advise against making such visits mandatory or punitive. If, however, you require that a student visit us, we ask that you fill out a referral form and give it to the student. The student will give us the referral form, and we will mail it back to you acknowledging the visit. The details of all Writing Center sessions are confidential.
