About LOFT

If you're a "go-getter" interested in getting off to a fast start in the Colgate community, LOFT is the program for you.

Participants in LOFT will engage in three modules throughout the year:
  1. A six-week program with seminar-styled meetings covering various topics necessary for the cultivation of leadership skills such as communication, group dynamics, and event planning. This module culminates in a retreat for LOFT students following fall recess.
  2. The second module spans the fall and spring semesters and engages you through work with various campus partners to produce programs and events for the campus at large.
  3. The third module encourages you to reflect on your LOFT experience and focus on transitioning into your sophomore year, while also educating you about summer opportunities on campus.
Living in LOFT is an amazing opportunity to develop your interests and challenge your ways of thinking. The experience will bring you into close contact with key staff members, faculty, and peers across the university.

Enrolling in LOFT

The LOFT program is for first-year students. To enroll you must indicate your preference to join on your First-Year Student Housing Preference form during the summer before your first year.
