Annual Fund

Colgate is a unique liberal arts environment where smart, driven, and passionate students can develop the skills they will need for a lifetime of leadership and engagement.
A beautiful and colorful autumn morning on the Colgate University campus.
The annual fund makes this possible by giving alumni, friends, and parents a way to support undergraduates directly through financial aid, student life initiatives, academic programs, research projects, the arts, athletics, and more.

Affinity Fundraising Committees

We invite you to select a committee based on your involvement while at Colgate. You will have the option of participating as a Presidents' Club fundraiser (securing gifts at a leadership level) or a Annual Giving fundraiser (securing gifts at any level).

We realize that not all affinities are represented on this list and plan to expand our committee offerings in the future. In the meantime, if you do not see your affinity represented here, but would like to get involved as a fundraising ambassador for Colgate, please contact Patty Staskowski at 315-228-7724.

Thank you!

FAQs for Volunteers

Why have you reorganized the class based volunteer structure?

We know that your time is valuable, and we want to create the best possible opportunities for you to raise support for Colgate! Our data has shown that there is more opportunity to increase dollars and donors if there is a strong peer to peer connection. This new model provides the opportunity for our volunteers to reach out within their affinity group and across class years with the likelihood of greater success.

Why doesn’t my class have a committee anymore?

We have heard from many volunteers who enjoy fundraising around their milestone reunion, but find it more challenging in other years. This new model helps to address that concern while keeping the process of fundraising fresh and exciting. Your class committee will reconvene in a reunion year at which point we’ll ask volunteers to make a two-year commitment to also help with post-reunion opportunity.

Why isn’t my affinity group included?

In the first year of this new model, we’ve selected those affinity groups which have the strongest opportunity for increased donors and dollars, as well as those celebrating a milestone reunion year.

What will happen next year?

If your class is celebrating a milestone reunion next year, you may be asked to join that gift committee. You always have the option of remaining with an affinity based committee.

Can I still select people outside of my new committee to solicit?

Absolutely! Your staff liaison will reach out to discuss your assignments.

You asked me to me on a certain committee – can I select a different committee?

Absolutely! Just let us know by September 15.

Why did you remove people from my assignment list?

We have automatically removed anyone who was assigned to you who did not make a gift in fiscal year 2015. You will have the opportunity to review your list with your staff liaison and make adjustments before it is finalized.
