Colgate strives to be a diverse community with the interests and outlets that are representative of not only our nation, but also the world. In recent years, diversity of our student body, faculty, and staff has grown ethnically and culturally, as well as geographically and socioeconomically. Colgate provides an environment where students can appreciate, celebrate, and learn about their own cultures as well as those of the people around them.

Admission initiatives
The Office of Admission is committed to the recruitment and retention of a diverse and culturally aware student body. A number of initiatives overseen by the Multicultural Recruitment Committee help us attract and enroll not only a strong group of students of color, but also majority students who have a real and vested interest in joining a community that celebrates multiculturalism. Our admission process is characterized by a sensitivity to context and an appreciation of difference.
