Application Process

To make the application process as easy as possible, we have outlined four steps for you to consider and follow:

Full-Year Expenses

First take a look at what Colgate’s expenses are for the current academic year. These will include:
  • Tuition
  • Student activity fee
  • Housing
  • Meals
  • Additional expenses/books

Financial Aid

Transfer and readmission students are eligible for financial aid. The deadline for application is March 15 for the fall term and November 1 for the spring term. Students who fall into visiting and special exemption student categories are not eligible for aid from Colgate.

Links to required application forms and more detailed information about applying for financial aid, including details for international students, can be found with the financial aid office website.

Institutional aid is provided only to students who have demonstrated need and apply for assistance before an admission decision is made. Aid applicants can be considered for admission only when both the admission and financial aid application requirements have been met.

Questions about the financial aid application process may be answered on the financial aid page, or can be addressed to the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@colgate.edu.

Financial Aid Notification Dates

Students applying for the fall semester are usually notified about financial aid decisions in late April. Notification for the spring semester occurs in early December.
