Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative

Birds on Colgate's Taylor Lake during the summer
Emily Thigpen, assistant dean of admission, is based in the Washington, D.C. metro area as Colgate's Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative. Emily recruits and reads applications as if she were located on campus, but is accessible to prospective students in Washington D.C., Maryland (with the exception of Baltimore), Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Prospective students
Students and parents are welcome to contact Emily with questions about Colgate University or the application process. To connect with students, Emily has "office hours" at local coffee shops to chat with students, holds informational interview days, meets with community-based organizations, and speaks at any college admissions-related engagements.

Guidance counselors, college counselors, and community-based organization staff members may contact Emily at any time simply to make a connection, or with any special requests.

Alumni and current students
In addition to her admission work, Emily is excited about working with the vibrant alumni network in the D.C. metro area, and connecting with students on the National Institutes of Health and Washington, D.C. off-campus study programs.
