Home- Admission & Financial Aid- Apply- Standardized Testing Requirements Standardized Testing Requirements Early Decision Option I applicants should complete their standardized tests by early November. Early Decision Option II applicants should complete testing by December. If Early Decision candidates retake their standardized tests in the fall of their senior year, they should make certain to inform the Office of Admission in writing if they wish a decision to be postponed until the latest test scores have been received. Regular decision applicants should complete their testing by December. Candidates have two options for completing the standardized testing requirements: the SAT Reasoning Test OR the ACT Assessment. The SAT Reasoning Test Colgate University considers the highest mathematics, critical reading, and writing scores on the SAT Reasoning Test. Of the three sections of the SAT Reasoning Test, less emphasis is placed on the writing section. The Colgate admission staff will evaluate data on this new section before significantly incorporating it into admission decisions. Colgate considers all SAT scores in the application review process and requires that students submit all SAT scores from all test dates. Colgate University’s CEEB code is 2086. The ACT Assessment Colgate University does not require the writing component of the ACT Assessment. The Colgate admission staff considers the highest ACT composite score and does not mix test scores from different dates. Colgate University’s ACT code is 2702.
