Colgate is proud to partner with QuestBridge, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting the most exceptional, low-income youth with leading institutions of higher education. 

Colgate accepts the QuestBridge application from all QuestBridge finalists and non-finalists during all phases of the first-year application process. Students applying using the QuestBridge application will need to submit a QuestBridge Application Supplement through the Colgate applicant portal.

Applying to Colgate through QuestBridge

Students selected as QuestBridge Match Finalists who rank Colgate during the Match process will have their application materials forwarded by QuestBridge.

QuestBridge Match Finalists ranking Colgate will be required to complete Colgate's QuestBridge Application Supplement, available through Colgate's applicant portal. 

Students who rank Colgate during the Match process but do not match with Colgate will automatically be considered for admission to Colgate during Regular Decision. If you would like to be considered during the binding Early Decision II process, please notify us of your intentions and complete an Early Decision Agreement.

Students who participated in the QuestBridge Match process but did not rank Colgate can apply to Colgate through Regular Decision. 

Please note that if you are admitted through a binding Match at another institution, you will be required to withdraw your application from consideration at Colgate. 

If Colgate is your top choice and you are not admitted through a binding Match at another institution, you can convert your application to Early Decision II by sending us a completed Early Decision Agreement by February 1.

Students who were selected as QuestBridge Match Finalists but did not elect to rank any colleges through the Match Process can apply to Colgate through Early Decision or Regular Decision.

Students should fill out this form to submit their QuestBridge Application to Colgate University and indicate their application plan. Students using their QuestBridge application to apply to Colgate do not need to submit a Common or Coalition Application. Students will receive logon credentials to their Colgate Applicant Portal within 5 days of submission of this form to follow the status of their application.

Students who applied to QuestBridge but who were not selected as National Match Finalists are eligible to apply to Colgate through Early Decision or Regular Decision. 

Students should fill out this form to submit their QuestBridge Application to Colgate University and indicate their application plan. Students using their QuestBridge application to apply to Colgate do not need to submit a Common or Coalition Application. Frequently Asked Questions

To submit your QuestBridge application to Colgate for consideration during the Regular Decision round, you should complete the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form indicating your desire to apply to Colgate. Once Colgate receives your QuestBridge Regular Decision application, you will be required to complete a QuestBridge Application Supplement through your Colgate applicant portal.

Applicants can switch their applications from Regular Decision to Early Decision by sending Colgate an Early Decision Agreement by February 1 indicating your commitment to attending Colgate if admitted.

Both Early Decision options are binding processes; they differ only in timing.

To be considered during the Early Decision I process, we must receive your complete application and Early Decision Agreement no later than November 15. Early Decision I applicants receive admission decisions in mid-December. 

To be considered during the Early Decision II process, your application must be complete by January 15 and we must receive your Early Decision Agreement no later than February 1. Early Decision II applicants are notified of their decisions in mid-February.

Please note that QuestBridge students participating in the National College Match are not able to apply during Early Decision I, though students who do not match are able to apply to Colgate during Early Decision II.

No, if you have submitted a QuestBridge application to Colgate, you should not submit a Common Application or a Coalition Application. All QuestBridge applicants will be considered for admission to Colgate using the QuestBridge application. You will be required to complete a QuestBridge Application Supplement, which will be available through your Colgate applicant portal after we have received your application. 

QuestBridge students who match with Colgate through the National College Match will receive a Match Scholarship, a full four-year scholarship containing no parental contribution and no student loans. 

Students admitted to Colgate through Early Decision or Regular Decision will receive a financial aid package that meets 100% of their demonstrated financial need. The Colgate Commitment assures that students from families with annual incomes of $175,000 or less do not have student loans included in their financial aid package.
