Extended Studies

A number of courses each semester allow you to extend your learning beyond the classroom and beyond the semester with short-term off-campus study and study-abroad experiences with your professor and classmates.

How Extended Studies Work

As a participant in an extended study, you will enroll in and attend class for the full semester, just as you would for any other class. At the conclusion of the semester, however, you, your classmates, and the faculty member teaching the course will travel together to continue your studies on location for 2-3 weeks.

Your travel experience and work while studying on location with the extended study is evaluated and assessed by your faculty member, and you will receive a partial course credit on your transcript.
