Psi Chi is the national honor society in psychology. Lifetime membership in Psi Chi is an earned honor, and there is a one-time membership fee (currently $35).
Colgate's chapter of Psi Chi is supervised by Dr. Richard Braaten. Copies of Psi Chi's newsletter, Eye on Psi Chi, are distributed to inducted members. If you are a Colgate student who has achieved the requirements for membership (listed below), please see Dr. Braaten for an application!
Requirements:
Completion of at least 3 semesters of college
Completion of at least 3 psychology courses
Registration for a major or minor in psychology or a major in neuroscience
Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 and rank in the upper 35% of your class
Minimum overall psychology GPA of 3.00
High standards of personal behavior
Two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at a regular meeting of the chapter
