Internships

Internships provide a way of gaining valuable experience.  Our students have obtained internships through some of the following:

Majoring in geography provides a strong foundation for graduate work or future employment in both the private and public sectors.

Recent graduates have entered graduate programs in geography, climatology, environmental science, population studies, international development, public health, urban and regional planning, environmental law, and land-use planning.

Other recent graduates have applied the research skills and techniques gained in our program at such organizations as the Nature Conservancy, Mystic Aquarium and Institute, National Geographic Society, FEMA and the CDC in addition to international development organizations, alternative energy initiatives, investment banking and environmental consulting firms throughout the country.
