Equipment
A variety of modern laboratory instrumentation is available to support the department.
Building
Facilities in Olin Hall include faculty offices and research, teaching, and computing labs. Each faculty member has a laboratory in which they conduct research and guide student research projects.
Also available are 10 walk-in environmental chambers, a greenhouse, a cold room, dark rooms, and a radioactivity lab. All laboratories are wired for network connections and most contain dedicated computing equipment. Additionally, 24 laptop computers are devoted to use in student laboratories and field exercises.

The library has a variety of resources available to faculty members and students.
Field
Field work takes place at nearby sites including the university’s 140-acre Bewkes Center Nature Preserve, the Rogers Conservation Center, and local beaver colonies.
