Academics at Colgate

Colgate combines the rigorous academic demands of a university with the intimate classroom setting of a liberal arts college.

Our faculty are world-renowned scholars - you'll be studying with the very best. And Colgate is the best place, bar none, for undergraduates to work side-by-side with faculty members on original projects.

Through our groundbreaking residential life program you'll learn how to organize and lead people and projects better than anywhere else (in fact, most places won't teach you this stuff at all).

The university offers 51 concentrations (majors), and the courses of study we offer are as varied as the types of students we attract.

A small graduate program (PDF) offers the master of arts (MA) and the master of arts in teaching (MAT) degrees.

Colgate's off-campus study program is one of the strongest among the top-20 liberal arts universities, and our Core curriculum has been recognized by the American Association of Colleges and Universities as a model for liberal arts education in the 21st century.
