As a chemistry or biochemistry major you will be required to participate in a full year of original research during your senior year, in collaboration with one or more faculty members.
Typically, students join an ongoing research project in the department. Please visit our
faculty members' profile pages to get learn more about their interests and projects.
Each summer, 10-20 chemistry students remain on campus for the summer to conduct research in chemistry and biochemistry.
Appointments are normally for 10 full weeks, beginning in the first week of June. There is flexibility in this schedule that can be negotiated on an individual basis. Our student researchers are paid a standard research stipend, and are eligible for subsidized
on-campus housing.
There are usually several different research opportunities available in several different specialties. To get involved in this great opportunity to build your resume, learn lab techniques and processes, and do research on the cutting edge of the chemistry field, find a
faculty member doing research that interests you.
