This course is a practical introduction to live performance, an exploration into rhythms and steps, focusing on body awareness, alignment, coordination, and control. Students are exposed to a variety of dance and movement techniques meant to expand their physical conditioning, artistic expressiveness, and non-verbal communication abilities. Through individual and ensemble work, students explore the territory of gestural and corporeal language, and the relationships between impulse, form, content, and space in performance.
