Suzy Nelson

Suzy Nelson is the vice president and dean of the college.
Students at this age are really open to change. They’re trying to put together a lot of different pieces, such as what they’re learning in the classroom and how it intersects with who they are as people. They want to change the world. Douglas Hicks

Douglas Hicks is provost, dean of the faculty, and professor of religion.
I love my work because I get to make connections across departments, ideas, and disciplines, and also to connect academic programs to IT, the library, museums, and athletics. It’s not just organizational work — it’s intellectual work about how we meet our educational goals. READ MORE

Padma Kaimal

Padma Kaimal is a professor of art & art history and Asian studies.
They can be beautiful and they can be terrifying — the duality of Hindu goddesses inspired Padma Kaimal’s new book, Scattered Goddesses: Travels with the Yoginis. But Kaimal wasn’t always drawn to these female icons. READ MORE

Zhou Tian

Zhou Tian is an assistant professor of music.
Born in Hangzhou, China, Zhou Tian began studying music composition as a middle-school student at the Shanghai Conservatory. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, a master’s at Juilliard, and a doctorate at the University of Southern California. Tian arrived at Colgate in 2011. READ MORE
