Shuttle Service

Colgate has contracted with Birnie Bus Service Inc. to create the Demand Response Shuttle Service. It is available to faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors, and is especially helpful to those using the transportation facilities in Syracuse and Utica as part of a trip to tour our campus.

Reservations

• Call 315-824-1260, choose option five or extension 232 (or email lisaw@birniebus.com).
• Prepayment with credit cards is available or drivers can be paid with cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
• All trips require a 24-hour business notice. Each reservation must be made by noon for the next day’s trip. Monday trips require a notification by noon on the preceding Friday.
• A live dispatch service is provided Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Voice mail reservations are in effect all other hours.
• Cancellations must be made one hour before departure of the trip or a $35 fee will be charged.
• Chevrolet Uplanders, which seat up to six adults, are used for this service.

Cost

• One-way fee to or from the Syracuse airport, train or bus station is $98 (gratuity included; not to exceed 2.5 hours). An additional fee of $10 per person for the second and third passenger is applied; no additional charge for passengers four, five or six.
• One-way fee to or from the Utica train or bus station is $88 (gratuity included; not to exceed 2.25 hours). An additional fee of $10 per person for the second and third passenger is applied; no additional charge for passengers four, five or six.
• Fees to all other destinations are based on $39.50 per hour (prorated in 15 minute increments) plus .19 per mile.
• Driver waiting time is billed at the rate of $25 per hour (prorated in 15 minute increments).
