Want to stay connected to Colgate 24/7? Our interactive screensaver is a terrific way to do just that.

Just download the application, which is quick and easy, and our screensaver will do the rest.

Each time you connect to the Internet the screensaver will automatically upload the latest news and athletics stories from around campus.

New photographs will be regularly added, giving you a chance to experience campus events on your computer at home and at work.

Firewall Note: To pick up the latest Colgate content, the Interactive Screensaver requires access to the Internet.

Connectivity Note: While the last updated version of news, events, and photos will be available from your screensaver at any time, you will need to be connected to the Internet to view any video or images embedded in a news story.

System Requirements:

  • Windows 2000 or Windows XP
  • Macintosh OSX 10.3x or Osx 10.4x

Windows Instructions:

  1. Right-click on Download for PCs button above and select Save Target As...
  2. Save the file to your desktop.
  3. Double-click the colgate_screensaver.exe file on your desktop to install the screensaver.
  4. When asked if you would like to open the Windows screensaver control panel, click Yes.
  5. Personal Firewall Note: If you have personal firewall software installed (e.g. Norton Internet Security, McAfee Internet Security Suite, ZoneAlarm, etc.), you will be asked to allow the ScreenTime Screensaver Engine access to the Internet. Say yes. (If you install a firewall after installing the screensaver, you will need to manually configure the firewall to allow access.)
  6. Click OK to close the Display Properties window.

Macintosh Instructions:

  1. Click on theDownload for Macs button above.
  2. If asked by your browser, open with StuffifExpander.
  3. Locate the colgate_screensaver_osx file and double-click.
  4. The screensaver will automatically open System Preferences.
  5. Set options as desired and Quit System Preferences.
