The Green Movement is rapidly spreading across our campus and across the globe and each of us has an important role to play. At Colgate and at home, our cumulative individual behaviors and daily decisions are making a big difference. Implementing "green" practices into our personal and work lives can be fun, inspiring, and can save money. Most importantly, being "green" can help protect our planet's resources and our shared future.

Become an Eco-Rep!
Beginning fall semester '09, Colgate's Green Campus Initiative will take root. The Green Campus Initiative is designed to support behavior change and the "greening" of Colgate’s day-to-day practices by focusing on three distinct programs: 1) a Residential Green Living Program, 2) a Green Office Program, and 3) Green Events. The basic idea is that “Eco-Reps” will work with the Sustainability Coordinator to develop training and educational materials to assist Colgate community members in their pursuit to be more sustainable. Eco-Reps will work with RAs, event coordinators, program and office assistants, students and employees who wish to green their Colgate life. Everyone is welcome to participate. This fall, Colgate students and employees will have the opportunity to create and judge sustainability videos that are meant to be fun, inspirational, and educational.
