The faculty members of the Department of Biology have expertise in diverse areas that include cell and molecular biology, organismal and evolutionary biology, terrestrial and aquatic ecology, plant and animal physiology, and animal behavior.
The department has been very successful in attracting generous outside funding for innovative curricular projects, as well as major equipment for teaching and research.
Faculty members are active researchers and engage students in investigative laboratories or field projects as an integral part of their science education.
