For us, an important springboard to such an understanding is the concept of globalization.

We seek to convey the forms (like foreign direct investment and international migration) in which globalization is expressed and the consequences of globalization for modes of resource exploitation and the well-being of ecosystems and place-based populations at various geographic scales of analysis.
