Jason Beck graduated from Miami University with a bachelors in political science and English/Creative Writing. While at Miami, Jason washed dishes in the dining halls and led service trips for the university’s Office of Community Engagement and Service. He worked for an affordable housing agency in Cincinnati, restoring and maintaining apartment units in the city’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.
Jason was born and raised in Holgate, Ohio, a small farming community located in the northwest portion of the state. The town of 1,200 inhabitants has one Subway restaurant and two water towers (with water pressure like you wouldn’t believe). Hamilton is just like his hometown, but with a larger, more vibrant downtown and a university attached.
While at Colgate, Jason will be advising student groups working up in Utica and assisting faculty in their service-learning initiatives.
