Student Life

The Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (the COVE) is Colgate's center for service, citizenship, and community building.

cove video Housed in East Hall, the COVE supports volunteer organizations, service learning classes, internship programs, residential life initiatives, and social change oriented career counseling.

Our goal is to help America meet its two most pressing challenges: to create healthy communities that meet the multiple needs of all people, and to create an activated citizenry of community builders who are committed to democracy.

Students can get involved with a multitude of community based teams to effect direct change within Colgate's surrounding communities. Students gain an appreciation of service, an understanding of the social and economic issues of Central New York, and become passionate, engaged, and globally-minded citizens.
