Colgate's next president
On Nov. 16, 2009, the university's Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Jeffrey Herbst, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Miami University (Ohio), as Colgate’s 16th president. Herbst will assume his duties July 1. Colgate's provost and dean of the faculty, Lyle Roelofs, continues to serve as interim president during the transition.
